The Challenge
The 2012 BMW 320d is a part of BMW’s 3 Series lineup, known for its blend of luxury, performance, and efficiency. The 320d carries the signature BMW design, featuring a sleek and aerodynamic profile. It boasts a sporty yet elegant appearance with its distinctive kidney-shaped grille, sharp headlights, and well-sculpted body lines. The 320d is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged inline-4 diesel engine. This engine is known for its efficiency and torque delivery.
We are in this article exploring how tuning the BMW 320d can make it more capable on the open road. To illustrate we will look at a 2012 BMW 320d Touring that we have fine-tuned for a customer. Despite the factory engine’s ability, there is still plenty of potential hidden under the bonnet, and with a custom dyno tune from our team at Advanced Tuning, the engine’s performance can quickly be unlocked. The Stage 1 power tune, by Advanced Tuning, can boost the horsepower and torque of the BMW 320d, meaning you’ll have more power under the hood, which can make the driving experience more exciting.
The Solution
We complete our tunes in-house using Alientech KESS3, and then confirm the power change and delivery on our dyno. This way we can be sure the car is not only producing a more desirable power output but is also doing so in a safe way to ensure the car will be as reliable as it was from the factory! As shown in the dyno chart the 2012 BMW 320d Touring that we used as our example, had a 23% increase in power and torque. As a result of tuning the BMW 320d will give a more exciting driving experience.
Further Benefits
Increased Power and Torque
Increased power and torque result in safer over taking and easier open road driving. Throttle response is also increased.
Years of Development
We have been tuning the BMW’s 2.0L turbo diesel engine for years, and understand how they work as well as the limitation on factory hardware.
